The prohibited orientation is horizontal with the PCB up. Mounting screws --------------- There are 8 mounting tapped holes on the mounting frame. The drive will be mounted using UNC *6-32 or M-3 or M-4 screws (both types are available), with 3.5mm (0.14 inches) maximum penetration. Mounting Clearance ------------------ The EPSON HMD-726A is designed to withstand shocks and vibrations at greater levels. However, to take full advantage of the shock absorbers, it is necessary to provide a clearance of 2.5mm or 0.1 inch on all sides of the drive. This clearance allows for movement of the drive during accelaration and also free air flow for ventilation. Electrical Interface -------------------- The electrical interface consists of two parts, each of which is physically separated. (1) Interface Signals (J1/P1) (2) DC Power Input (J2/P2) All Interface signal lines are digital (terminated open collector TTL) and provide signals either to or from the drive via a 50 pin connector J1/P1. Connector J2/P2 provides the drive with DC powers (+12V and +5V). J2/P2 Connector --------------- DC power connector J2 is a 4-pin AMP Mate-N-Lok connector, mounted on the Pronted Circuit Board.
